Many travel writers have sung their praises. Come and see for yourself why the French call this area 'la belle' (the beautiful) or 'la douce France' (soothing France). You will find Terme d'Astor in the middle of this stunning county . In an area of rolling hills with whispering woods of oak and chestnut, fields with sweetcorn, sunflowers and fragrant tobacco. A landscape with medieval churches in age-old villages. The land of plenty, famous for its truffles , walnuts, chestnuts and wild mushrooms. Although tourism has made the area a bit better off, agriculture remains its main source of income. So still very rural.

The 100-year war between England and France left many visible souvenirs: solid castles (Monbazillac , Beynac, Castelnaud , Milandes ) and fortified villages like Monpazier . Bergerac and Sarlat (each at a distance of approx. 40 km/25 miles)are widely known towns.

So, this is a splendid corner of France with many places of interest and possibilities for a holiday you will not forget.
